Making The Switch To BPA-Free Bottles

Reports of the toxin bisphenol-A, or BPA, contaminating beverages contained in plastic bottles are making folks rethink the use of those disposable water bottles. Switching to a BPA-free bottle is the logical decision to make for those folks who consume drinks on the go and wish to remain safe and healthy without a moment of concern. Using these BPA-free bottles not only alleviate the possibility of poisoning your body, but they make a great effort to improving our environment. The benefits of using such a water bottle far outweigh the cons, and keeping you and your loved ones safe should be your first and foremost concern.

What Makes These Re-Usable Water Bottles The Safer Choice

BPA-free bottles are specifically designed for re-use, rather than the plastic version you find most people carrying around. When the disposable water bottles are re-used continually, their chemical makeup begins to break down. With BPA being one of the chemicals emitted, you run the chance of ingesting large amounts of the toxin by doing so. BPA has been known to induce hormones, especially estrogen. High amounts of estrogen have been related to such health issues as cancers, diabetes, and even effects development growth. It is especially dangerous for young children and has been connected to behavioral issues displayed in their youth.

Canada and many of our own states have recently either banned or limited the use of BPA in baby and drinking bottles, as well as other consumption containers. These entities feel that a safe alternative is more important than risking the health of their people. While many of the packaging companies that supply disposable plastics to the masses feel that the risk is a low one, the possibility of it occurring is one that should not even be considered. Switching to a BPA-free bottle is the only logical solution.

Finding BPA-Free Bottles

It won't be difficult for you to locate bottles that are BPA-free. Throughout the Internet and your local department stores, you can find several companies that claim to produce BPA-free bottles and/or containers. Look for the re-usable bottles that are made of 18/8 food grade stainless steel, and clearly state BPA-free. You'll find that these water bottles are much more sturdy than the disposable plastic ones, and can be found in 20oz/600ml and 25oz/750ml sizes. They even come in various colors and shapes to appease the fashion senses.

Not everyone is convinced of the dangers that disposable plastics carry, but why risk yourself and your loved one's health over something that is easily rectified. Water bottles that are BPA-free are not overly expensive or hard to come by. The companies that manufacture them are constantly making improvements to better serve you and your lifestyle. You'll soon see that making the switch to BPA-free bottles is a choice that can only improve your own and your loved ones lives, and avoiding unnecessary health issues.
